ELIOT NESS DAY THIS SATURDAY, 8/22, IS CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER FORECASTS
It is with great disappointment to announce it has been decided to cancel this Saturday’s 100th Anniversary Eliot Ness Day event, 8/22, due to the increasing unpredictability yet possible severity of the weather forecasts for Saturday. With still an unacceptably high possibility of severe weather; thunderstorms, heavy rains, lightning risk and gusty winds.
Safety is our first priority. We do not intend to cause or expect folks to come to this largely outdoor event under these possible circumstances.
Further, these forecasts, as variable as they are, but still with a significant threat of possible thunderstorms, and severe weather, have already irreversibly negatively impacted the probable quality of the event.
Especially in the case of likely having only very few antique cars and trucks in town on Main Street because of these circumstances. It’s the cars and trucks, more than anything else, that make this sort of event.
The Eliot Ness Museum will still be open Saturday for all those who already made reservations to see the museum.
We apologize to the many of our partners, friends and volunteers who have worked so hard to get ready for this event, and likewise to all who have made plans to come and the trouble and also possible expense of all that.
