Here is a response to my inquiry about how the project is going:

Hello Jessica, thank you again for reaching out. I would be happy to provide an update on the project.
While we can speak to the improvements taking place on the property itself, we cannot speak on behalf of the Farmer’s Market organization, as it operates as a separate entity with its own leadership.

The God’s Country Market Village project is currently envisioned as a two-phase effort. At this time, work is underway on Phase 1, which focuses on significant site improvements designed to enhance the property for public use and community activities. These improvements include the installation of electrical infrastructure, ADA-compliant walking paths, benches and seating areas, an entertainment and gathering space, environmental and educational features, and upgrades to the public restroom facilities. The goal of Phase 1 is to create a more accessible, functional, and welcoming space that can support a variety of community events and activities.

Phase 1 is being funded through a grant from DCNR and construction is currently moving forward.

As for Phase 2, it remains in the conceptual planning stage. While there are ideas and long-term goals associated with future enhancements to the property, no funding has been secured or identified for that phase at this time. Any future development will depend on available funding opportunities, community support, additional planning efforts, and securing of a concessionaire.

We are excited to see Phase 1 moving forward and look forward to the positive impact these improvements will have on the community for years to come.
