The marathon is well underway, with Full Marathon runners starting at 7am in Galeton at the High School, and Half Marathon runners starting at 8am at Denton Hill State Park.

The 50th+ Annual God’s Country Marathon Race Series takes place today, June 6, 2026, in Potter County, Pennsylvania, featuring a full marathon, half marathon, and full marathon team relay. The point-to-point course is famous for its scenic mountain views and challenging hill climbs, running along U.S. Route 6 through the Susquehannock State Forest.
Race Events & Start Times
- Full Marathon & Team Relay: Starts at 7:00 AM at Galeton Area High School (elevation 1,300 ft).
- Half Marathon: Starts at 8:00 AM at Denton Hill State Park.
Course Highlights & Terrain
- Full Marathon: Runners travel west along Route 6, peaking at an elevation of 2,424 ft after a challenging climb up Denton Hill. The final stretch features an 800-foot, 8-mile descent into Coudersport.
- Half Marathon: Begins at the base of Denton Hill, tackles the climb up the eastern continental divide, and finishes with a scenic descent into town.
- Finish Line: All events finish at the historic Potter County Courthouse Square in downtown Coudersport.
